MAINE SCHOOL GARDEN OPEN HOUSE
Join other Maine schoosl by organizing an Open House at your own
school garden!  On October 1st, schools across the state will celebrate
their school grown harvests.  See the

Farmers currently working with schools in Maine
RSU No.5 School Nutrition Program
RSU No.5 school union is comprised of Durham,
Freeport, and Pownal Schools with an enrollment of
1850 students. Approximately 21 percent are free or
reduced. The program has six schools all are full service
kitchens and employs 15 dedicated staff. All schools
K-12 have full salad bars featuring fresh fruit and
vegetables every day.
Some of the items we have been using for Maine
Harvest week are Fresh Haddock from Maine Waters,
Wolf Neck Farm Beef, Corn, Squash, and Potatoes from
Bells Farm and Apples from Troy Acers.
